Dear SPC Families,

Happy November! I hope everyone has warmed up after a chilly Halloween! We had a very busy week here at SPC! Congratulations to Dr. O and our NASA Tech Rise winners from last year, who showcased their project and success on WGN yesterday! They spent a very fun afternoon at WGN studios. CLICK HERE TO WATCH!

Kindergarten-8th graders enjoyed a visit from Jim Basketball Jones yesterday for his energizing messages about kindness and leadership. I encourage you to talk to your children about what their "takeaways" were from his assembly!

I want to give a shout-out to all the amazing volunteers and Mrs. Greene, who made Fun Fair 2023 a huge success! Thank you for sharing your time and energy to make the day so fun for the children. This year, we moved the Early Childhood Fun Fair to Duffin Hall for an extra special experience for our littlest tigers.

NEW STUDENT REGISTRATION FOR CURRENT FAMILIES

We are excited to begin registration for the 2024-2025 school year, and as always, current families have priority in the process. If your family will have a new student to SPC next year, the application is now open to current families only. Please log in to your FACTS account and select Create a New Student Application. If you will not have a new student next year to SPC, there is no further action needed. Re-registration for current students will take place in December.

Adopt A Family Donations–CHRISTMAS DONATIONS FOR SOCIAL SERVICE MINISTRY

SPC has a long-standing tradition of partnering with the parish social service ministry to ensure that needy families in our community have a wonderful Christmas. The Adopt-A-Family program will collect funds and purchase gift cards so families can buy their own gifts. Given the timeline, we ask that funds be collected by December 10, 2023. Please consider donating to the Adopt-A-Family program so our school can continue this Advent tradition. 100% of these proceeds will go towards the Adopt-A-Family program in Social Service Ministry. CLICK HERE TO MAKE A DONATION

Dear parents,

We are excited to be sharing with you the details for this year‘s Fun Fair. All students will be participating in this year‘s Fun Fair on Friday, October 27th. The Early Childhood classrooms will participate in Duffin Hall and students K-8 will participate in the gym.

To volunteer for this fun event for the K-8th grades, please click on the SPC Fun Fair Volunteer link here.

Please review the available slots below and click on the button to sign up. Thank you!

The Early Childhood sign ups will be coordinated through each classroom’s room parents for volunteer opportunities. Please keep in mind, parents are not allowed inside the Fun Fair unless they are a registered volunteer.

If you sign up for a shift, you must cover the entire shift. Unfortunately, we cannot allow for breaks for meetings, lunch duty coverage, recess coverage, etc..
All volunteers are encouraged to dress up in appropriate costumes!
As a reminder, all volunteers on school grounds must be VIRTUS certified and this can be done virtually.

The schedule of events for the students visiting the Fun Fair will be released in an upcoming Thursday mailer from Dr. M; however, the day begins with K and ends with 8th.

As in years past, we are asking all children to help by donating candy/party favors to the event. All candy/party favors assignments are listed below and we are asking for at least 1-2 bags to be brought in per student. If you cannot find the item you are assigned, please choose something else off this list. Candy/favors can be brought in starting on Monday, October 16th and given to your child’s homeroom teacher.

As a reminder, no candy will be consumed at school and allergy friendly bags will be available.
We are looking forward to an incredible event and we cannot wait to celebrate Halloween with the students.
Thank you all for your support and help in creating an amazing event!

All the best,
The Fun Fair Committee
