April 18, 2024

Dear SPC Families,

Our Early Childhood students are having a wonderful Week of the Young Child! Thank you to the Week of the Young Child committee and Mrs. Hart for planning the activities. We are excited that the service project for the week will benefit Bernie's Book Bank. Last week, our 3rd grade traveled to Bernie's Book Bank to sort books, and this week, the 3rd graders were able to speak to the early childhood students and share what they learned; it was exciting to see the 3rd graders grow into a leadership role with the younger students!

VIP DAY! (Very Important Person Day) Tomorrow, April 19th

We look forward to hosting VIP Day tomorrow, April 19th! Each student (PS-3rd grade) will be able to bring ONE (1) VIP to school.

VIPs will report to the classrooms at the assigned time for refreshments and activities, which last about 45 minutes.

  • Preschool - 2nd Grade VIPs enter through the EGC building - Door D5.
  • Third Grade VIPS enter through the UGC building - Door B1.

Unfortunately, the 2nd floor of the EGC is not handicap accessible; this impacts the K-2nd Grade.

VIP DAY SCHEDULE:

8:15-9:00 am Preschool

9:00–9:45 am Kindergarten through Third Grade

10:00 am - Mass in the Upper Church

  • VIPs in grades K-3 are welcome to join us and sit with their SPC student.
  • Preschool will not be attending Mass.
  • Assigned seats will be posted by grade level in the church. VIPs will walk over to church with their student's homeroom teacher.

VIP DAY PARKING: Special Parking Instructions for VIP Day (Friday, April 19th)

Since we anticipate our parking lots being very full on Friday, we are asking for a little help! If your child(ren) 's VIP can be dropped off, that would be extremely helpful.

The main parking lot is open; however, there is 8:30 Mass. The small parking lot off of Ridge Terrace will be open next to the Kinane Center, along with street parking and the metered railroad track parking spaces. Please note, though, that these are paid parking spots, and you will be ticketed if you do not pay.

We ask that you please be respectful of our neighbors at Ryan-Parke Funeral Home and FM Global across the street from the UGC. They do not allow visitors to park there on weekdays, as their lots are open only for their employees. We are aware parking might be a difficult situation, but we truly appreciate your help and cooperation.

We look forward to a wonderful morning with our VIPs!

Introducing Monthly SPC Women's Group Gatherings!

The SPC Women’s Group, also known as the Apostolate of Women, will now gather monthly to meet new and old friends and to provide all women of the parish with updates on recent activities of our pillars (Spiritual, Service, and Social) as well as our guilds (small groups). . We’ll also share opportunities for you to get involved and, most importantly, enjoy each other’s fellowship.

You don’t have to be a member to attend, although of course we would love you to join the group.

Many women have told us they would love to get involved yet can’t commit a lot of time. That’s okay – there are plenty of one or two hour service opportunities for you to contribute your time or talent.

Don’t miss out on our next gathering on Monday, May 6th in the Holy Family Chapel.
Doors open at 7 p.m., meeting starts at 7:30 p.m.

We look forward to seeing you there! If you have any questions or topics you’d like included in these meetings, please send us an email at This email address is being protected from spambots. You need JavaScript enabled to view it..
