4th Grade Teacher Position Overview
St. Paul of the Cross School is seeking a dynamic, faith-filled, and collaborative 4th Grade Teacher to join our elementary team. This position is part of a three-teacher, self-contained 4th grade team. The ideal candidate will bring a passion for teaching, a commitment to Catholic education, and a strong background in elementary instruction—particularly in Language Arts and Reading.
- Foster a Christ-centered classroom environment that supports the spiritual, academic, and social development of all students
- Plan and deliver engaging, differentiated instruction across core subject areas within a self-contained classroom model
- Collaborate closely with the 4th grade team to ensure consistency, alignment, and innovation in instruction
- Utilize data to inform instruction and support student growth
- Integrate technology effectively, including the use of iPads, to enhance learning
- Communicate regularly and effectively with parents/guardians regarding student progress and classroom activities
- Support and implement accommodations in partnership with the school’s inclusion program
- Participate actively in school liturgies, events, and the broader faith community
- Engage in ongoing professional growth and development
- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Elementary Education endorsement
- Degree in Elementary Education and/or a focus in Language Arts/Reading preferred
- Commitment to the mission of Catholic education
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to collaborate effectively within a team-based teaching model
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills

St. Paul of the Cross School is seeking a dynamic, energetic, and faith-filled Physical Education Teacher to serve students in Preschool through Grade 8. The ideal candidate will be passionate about promoting lifelong health and wellness, fostering positive sportsmanship, and creating engaging physical education experiences that support the development of the whole child.
The successful candidate will inspire students to develop healthy habits, teamwork skills, self-confidence, and an appreciation for physical activity while supporting the mission and values of Catholic education.
- Foster a Christ-centered learning environment that promotes respect, inclusion, and personal growth
- Plan and deliver developmentally appropriate physical education instruction for students in Preschool through Grade 8
- Design engaging lessons that develop motor skills, physical fitness, teamwork, sportsmanship, and healthy lifestyle habits
- Differentiate instruction to meet the needs of diverse learners and support students at varying ability levels
- Maintain a safe and organized gymnasium and instructional environment
- Utilize assessment data to monitor student growth and provide meaningful feedback
- Collaborate with classroom teachers, administrators, and support staff to promote student success
- Integrate technology and innovative instructional practices when appropriate
- Communicate effectively with parents regarding student progress and classroom expectations
- Participate actively in school liturgies, events, faculty meetings, and the broader faith community

- Valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) with Physical Education endorsement
- Degree in Physical Education, Kinesiology, Exercise Science, or a related field
- Commitment to the mission and values of Catholic education
- Strong classroom management and organizational skills
- Ability to motivate and engage students across a wide range of developmental levels
- Experience working with elementary and middle school students preferred
- Excellent communication, collaboration, and interpersonal skills
