Principal’s Welcome

Dear Saint Paul of the Cross School and Parish Families,
It is with great joy and heartfelt appreciation that I introduce myself to this vibrant and faith-filled community. My name is James White, M.Ed., and I am truly honored to be joining Saint Paul of the Cross. I come to you with over 30 years of experience in K–12 and higher education, driven by a lifelong commitment to student success, Catholic education, and building strong, inclusive learning environments.
I earned my undergraduate degree in the Teaching of English from the University of Illinois Chicago, and later pursued a Master’s in Educational Leadership from Indiana State University. Throughout my career, I’ve served in a variety of leadership roles, most recently as Principal and Director of Admission & Enrollment Management at Our Lady of the Lake Catholic School. I’ve been blessed to lead strategic initiatives that support student growth, strengthen school communities, and foster meaningful family engagement.
A proud graduate of Fenwick High School, my roots in Catholic education run deep. My wife Julie—who attended Trinity High School—and I raised our three children in Michigan City, where they attended Catholic school from Preschool through 12th grade. Today, all three are thriving college graduates, and we are incredibly grateful for the strong academic and spiritual foundation that Catholic education provided them.
I am thrilled to be here at SPC and feel incredibly blessed to be part of this extraordinary school and parish community. I look forward to getting to know each of you, working alongside our dedicated faculty and staff, and continuing the tradition of excellence and faith formation that defines Saint Paul of the Cross.
Thank you for the warm welcome—I can’t wait to meet all of our school and parish families in the days and weeks ahead!
With gratitude and excitement,
James White, M.Ed.
