September 22, 2022

Dear SPC Families,

Our 2022 Tiger Fun Run is TOMORROW, Friday, September 23rd and the weather looks perfect for the event. THANK YOU to all the families that have pledged so generously! I want to give a very special shout-out of thanksgiving to our Fun Run Chairwomen, Renee Tarasevich, who is the mastermind and energy for all things fun run! Since we have successfully raised over $100,000, I am excited to announce that we will have February 13th off of school–the day after Superbowl Sunday! It also looks like we will reach our stretch goal of $140,000, so cluck cluck cluck–I will be spending a day dressed like a chicken; maybe next year we can figure out a challenge that doesn’t involve farm animals?

We will be accepting online pledges through midnight of Fun Run Day at:  https://pledgestar.com/stpaulofthecross/

Some helpful reminders for tomorrow:

  • The big lot will be closed at 7:30 am. Please be patient and use caution as we utilize Washington for the big lot “kiss-and-go.”

  • Please do not park in FM Global Lot or the Ryan Parke Funeral Home Lot at any time during the school day. Please do not bring dogs to the Fun Run.

  • Be sure to send your student in his/her Fun Run t-shirt, comfortable bottoms, gym shoes, and a full water bottle!

  • Come cheer the students on! Make a sign, wear your favorite team jersey, or just come as you are and cheer on your SPC All-Star as they run laps in the big lot (schedule below).

PARENT TEACHER CONFERENCES OCTOBER 6th and 7th:
Next week we will send out the Pick a Time information to sign up for parent-teacher conferences. This year will offer in-person conferences as well as Zoom conferences. A reminder that there is no school on those two days, and students will be given asynchronous work to complete.

FORGOTTEN ITEMS:
Another reminder that there are too many items being dropped off at school during the day. This is a disruption to the teachers and the classes. Water bottles do not have to be dropped off. All water fountains are working!

In the UGC, forgotten Chromebooks will be taken but will be left on the table outside the office. It is the student's responsibility to remember their Chromebooks each and every day. They will not be called down to get them!

Also, students will not be allowed to call home for their Chromebook or be able to get a loaner.

Peace,

Dr. Erika Mickelburgh
