The Opengear IM7200 IM7232-2-DAC-LMV Infrastructure Management Equipment is designed for organizations that require reliable, secure, and scalable remote management across data centers, remote offices, and edge deployments. This solution blends Opengear’s proven out-of-band (OOB) capabilities with comprehensive environmental sensing, automated remediation, and enterprise-grade security. It’s engineered to protect uptime, streamline operations, and integrate with your existing monitoring ecosystems, while delivering resilient access even during network outages. Built to meet the demands of modern IT infrastructures, the IM7200 family offers a flexible platform for centralized control, rapid problem resolution, and business continuity across distributed environments.

  • Secure, always-on remote management with out-of-band access

Secure, persistent access to critical devices, even when the primary network is down. The IM7200-IM7232-2-DAC-LMV provides reliable console and KVM-over-IP capabilities, secure gateway tunneling, and redundancy-friendly design that ensures administrators can resolve issues from anywhere, at any time. By keeping management traffic separate from production networks, teams can perform firmware updates, reboot devices, and diagnose faults without interrupting ongoing operations. This capability translates into dramatically reduced mean time to repair (MTTR) and improved service availability across multi-site environments.

  • Comprehensive environmental monitoring for data-center-grade protection

Integrated sensors monitor critical environmental conditions such as temperature, humidity, and ambient conditions, with optional expansion for airflow, door state, and chassis status. Real-time dashboards and alerting enable proactive incident response, helping prevent overheating, condensation, or equipment stress that could lead to downtime. Historical trends support capacity planning and energy optimization, while easy integration with DCIM platforms ensures a unified view of facility health and IT performance.

  • Intelligent automation and zero-touch deployments

Automated recovery workflows, policy-based responses, and scalable configuration management reduce hands-on maintenance. Predefined playbooks enable rapid remediation for common incidents, such as failed services or failed network paths, without requiring on-site visits. The platform’s automation capabilities support mass provisioning and consistent policy enforcement across dozens or hundreds of remote sites, delivering faster deployment cycles and consistent security postures across the fleet.

  • Scalable, modular design for data centers and edge deployments

The IM7200 family combines high port density with modular expandability to address diverse environments—from dense data centers to distributed edge locations. The hardware platform supports flexible interface options, allowing administrators to consolidate remote management tasks in a single, centralized appliance. This scalability enables uniform management and governance across global networks, simplifying operations, reducing complexity, and enabling quicker expansion as your infrastructure grows.

  • Enterprise-grade security and governance

Security is integrated into every layer, with robust authentication, role-based access control (RBAC), and comprehensive audit trails. Encrypted management communications and secure remote access help protect sensitive configurations and credentials. Centralized user management (including integration with LDAP/Active Directory where supported), tamper-evident logs, and secure firmware update processes support compliance needs and reduce risk across critical IT infrastructure.

how to install Opengear IM7200 IM7232-2-DAC-LMV Infrastructure Management Equipment

  • Rack-mount the appliance in a standard 19-inch rack, ensuring adequate clearance for ventilation and cable management. Verify that the mounting location has access to power, network cabling, and environmental monitoring sensors as required by your deployment.
  • Connect management network interfaces to the out-of-band network and attach any required data networks. Configure primary management paths and ensure network policies permit secure remote access to the device from your administrative workstation or management console.
  • Connect power supplies, using redundant power if supported by your exact hardware configuration. Power on the unit and monitor the initialization sequence for any hardware alerts or sensor anomalies.
  • Access the initial setup via the console or management IP to configure basic network settings, administrator accounts, and security policies. Follow the guided setup to enable core remote-management features, standard operating procedures, and access controls.
  • Enable remote management capabilities, set up alerting and monitoring thresholds, and verify reachability from designated management stations. Validate that remote access (OOB) and health checks function as expected, and perform a basic remediation workflow to ensure the appliance responds correctly to simulated faults.

Gem from a brilliant thinker.
Format: Paperback
This book will forever redefine feminism for its readers. There are two threads: one political, the other literary commentary. Fortunately, Witting pulls the former into the latter. The astute and radical political critique in Wittig's book is uniquely powerful. Wittig addresses the question of how a movement is comprised of both group energy and individual experience. The theory, legacy, and limits of Marx and Engels are discussed. Then, drawing on de Beauvoir and other iconoclasts, Wittig addresses our dominator culture in a way that goes directly to its core. Wittig deals efficiently yet persuasively with the argument over whether nature or culture is responsible for inequality, declaring that "there is no sex." This statement becomes the book's alpha and omega, and the lens through which Wittig shows us history, literature, and the future of activism. Like whiteness, maleness is a social category that can be renounced. Man (Homo) once meant everybody in the human community -- it was indeed generic, in the unifying sense. Unfortunately, the word has so frequently been used to describe a socially constructed group that expels half of itself in order to oppress it, "man" is now identified with those identified as male. In the essay "The Category of Sex" Wittig writes: "The perenniality of the sexes and the perenniality of slaves and masters proceed from the same belief, and, as there are no slaves without masters, there are no women without men. The ideology of sexual difference functions as censorship in our culture by masking, on the grounds of nature, the social opposition between man and women. Masculine/feminine, male/female are the categories which serve to conceal the fact that social differences always belong to an economic, political, ideological order. ...The masters explain and justify the established divisions as a result of natural differences." I understand that Wittig has recently passed away. If only I had discovered this book a little earlier, so that I could have met the author. That feeling, I suppose, is the sign of a truly good read. "A text by a minority author is only successful if it succeeds in making the minority point of view unviersal" writes Wittig --and to read this book from beginning to end is to find that the author has done just that.

Partly still thought-provoking, partly dated
Format: Paperback
Dr. Wittig had so much anger, and had such a fight to fight. She seems excessive at times, or as though she is painting with such a broad brush, but writing such as this did win some important battles. No, things are not as dark as her wrath would suggest, or at least not anymore.
