Der Air-Tunnel ist im höchsten Punkt der Druckbelastung am Pferdekopf ein bewusster Materialrückschnitt bzw. Materialaussparung im Bereich der empfindlichen Genickmuskeln und des Atlas, dem ersten Halswirbel des Pferdes. Das Genickstück hat außerdem eine größere Kontaktfläche und mehr Polsterung als üblich.
