Dr. Erika Mickelburgh ~ Principal

Education
Masters in Teaching (MAT) from Dominican University
Masters degree in Education (MEd) with a focus in Instructional Leadership from Loyola University
Ed.D (Doctorate in Education) in curriculum and instruction from Loyola University.

Years in Education
This is my 3rd year as serving as the principal of St. Paul of the Cross School.
I am in my 23rd year as a Catholic school educator. I honestly can’t see myself working in any other environment than a Catholic school; I value the ability to share my faith with the school community and collaborate with faculty and parents to foster strong faith lives in our children. In my career, I have had the privilege of wearing many hats. I have taught middle school and high school Social Studies and English. I have also taught graduate-level education courses in both curriculum and administration. As an administrator, I have served as a high school dean, principal, and president and most recently as the Head of the Secondary School at St. Benedict Preparatory in Chicago. While my experiences have been varied, my favorite part of each job has been watching students grow in their faith life and embrace the pursuit of academic excellence!

Interesting Facts

My husband and two children (Abbie in 8th grade and Liam in 6th grade) live in Norwood Park.
