Mr. Burroughs, Moderator

During this spring, the St. Paul Lego Robotics Club has been meeting Friday afternoons to program, assemble and test sophisticated robots to perform various tasks and competitions.

Lego robots can be programmed on a PC using an easy to use programming language. Programs are then downloaded into the robot and run. These programs control the actions and decisions of the robot. Sensors on the robot can respond to various stimuli including sound, touch, and light. Robots can also measure distances and respond to different light levels.

Students are currently building robots to compete in Japanese sumo wrestling. The purpose is to locate and push the opposing robot out of the ring.
