More great ideas from our Home & School Association!

Box Tops are SNOW wonderful! Box Tops for Education is one of America’s largest school earnings loyalty programs and is an easy way to raise money for SPC. Many companies participate in the Box Tops program; examples include Ziploc (plastic bags), Progresso (soup), General Mills (Cheerios, Chex, Nature Valley granola bars), Scott (Kleenex facial tissues, paper towels), Annie’s (organic foods), Betty Crocker (baking products), Land O Lakes (butter, margarine), Hefty (garbage bags, disposable cups and plates), and Mott’s (applesauce and apple juice). Attached is a list of product brands that participate in Box Tops for Education.

Since Box Tops are SNOW wonderful, let’s see how many we can collect during this snowy time! Students can turn the Box Tops into their teachers. You can always turn them in at the EGC office or the collection box in the UGC hallway.

TRIP - We will be in the UGC every Friday morning between 8:00 - 9:00 a.m.   We will have cards for purchase (cash or check) that can be taken home with you! Buy cards for your everyday shopping or to give as gifts!

From the Parish

St. Paul of the Cross Parish Educational Endowment Fund Maureen McCambridge Scholarship Event

Hi SPC parents,

My name is Meghan McCamrbridge and I am on the planning committee for a party on March 3rd at St. Paul for the Maureen McCambridge Scholarship Fund in the Morello Life Center.

You may have seen some information in the Thursday Mailing or bulletin, but I wanted to provide you with some more background information.

My mom, Maureen, unexpectedly passed away 13 years ago from pneumonia. I know I am biased, but she was one of those really healthy, active, all-star moms. When she passed it was a huge shock to myself, my family, and the entire St. Paul community to say the least. She was a go-getter and was overly involved at St. Paul including hosting events, School Board, Guild, church-goer, party planner - the list goes on and on!

Back in the day, Maureen started an endowment fund and it has grown significantly in the last 12 years. The hope is for teachers and families to be able to apply for these funds if needed. There is also a scholarship in her name given to a 7th grader for their 8th grade year. Students apply in the early spring and it is awarded at mass on the last day of school. We are hoping that this event gives a jolt of enthusiasm to the scholarship and it keeps growing!

This is where the SPC community comes in:

· To the 7th grade parents, please encourage your kids to apply for the scholarship. Their teachers can answer any questions about timeline and process.

· To everyone, please come to the event! It is going to be an Italian style, family friendly dinner on March 3rd. There will be beer, wine, dinner, music and kids’ games! We hope to sell out and I hope you can make it!

· Tickets can be purchased here: https://spcsch.ejoinme.org/MyEvents/MaureenMcCambridgeScholarship/tabid/921782/Default.aspx

Cheers,
Meghan '01, Kelly '04 & Dan '07

Maureen McCambridge wished for an endowment fund to help St. Paul of the Cross students and teachers. She began this concept in 1999 and it became a reality a few years later. After her passing in 2005, the Endowment received several donations and a scholarship was created in her name. Please click here to read more!
