Our students will shortly receive the Sacrament of the Eucharist and to understand the mystery of Christ’s presence in the Eucharist. Through our studies in school and with the guidance of their parents, each child is learning to follow the message and live their faith in love of our Lord. As a culminating project, which has become our tradition here at St. Paul, the students made communion crosses out of colored sticks. These crosses were blessed and are a wonderful memento of this special occasion. We thank our moms and dads for all their help with this project.

Mrs. Maszka, who directs the Children’s Adoration Chapel, visited us and discussed the purpose of the Adoration Chapel. She explained the importance of going to church, how hosts are made, and the priest’s vestments. The children learned the importance of keeping Jesus in their hearts and following in his teachings each day. The children then received a tour of the chapel and were able to quietly reflect and spend time with God.

Our students celebrated Earth Week by learning how to conserve and protect our natural resources. We kicked off the week by participating in Earth Day projects. We also got a special visit from Mr. Jann who works for the EPA or Environmental Protection Agency. He shared with us how to keep our Earth cleaner and healthier for future generations. The children thoroughly enjoyed this presentation, and they keep asking for a return visit from Mr. Jann. During this week with Mrs. Johnson, the students also read a book called The Garbage Monster and created creatures out of recycled materials. Students participated in a waste free lunch in which they brought a lunch with as many reusable items as possible. Finally, students got to wear Earth colors and come out of uniform in celebration of being proactive in saving our Mother Earth.
