To the Computer Lab

The students of St. Paul of the Cross School enjoy coming to the computer lab, which is located in the Upper Grade Center, Room 204. We currently have thirty new IBM student computers, a teacher computer linked to a projector and a Smart Board, three color laser printers, scanners, and several digital cameras. All computers are online with a high speed connection.

Students in grades 1 through 8 visit the computer lab once a week. Additional time in the lab is given if a class is working on a particular project. Students may use the lab after school pending the approval and avaliability of Mrs. Moran, the computer teacher. The technology tools in the computer lab are used to enhance learning, increase productivity, and promote creativity. Students use technology in the development of strategies both for problem solving, and making informed decisions in the classroom and the real world.

The applications that we currently use are: Microsoft Office 2003 which consists of Word, Excel, Power Point, Access, & Publisher, Kid Pix, Kidspiration, Inspiration, Adobe Photoshop Elements, Timeliner, The Graph Club, Ultrakey, & Math Missions Gr K-2. Our web filtering software is Websense.
