|August 1- August 15, 2018||Applications will be accepted on a “first come, first served” basis for any remaining open spots, PS through Grade 8. For students to start school on the first day (tentatively August 20, 2018), applications must be completed and accepted by the school office prior to Wednesday, August 15, 2018.|
* The school office is open on school days from 7:30 am – 3:30 pm.
- One completed application for each child applying.
- The child’s original legal birth certificate issued by the state in which the child was born as required by the Illinois State Board of Education
- A copy of the child’s baptismal certiﬁcate if the child was not baptized at St. Paul of the Cross Church; the baptismal date if the child was baptized at St. Paul of the Cross Church.
- Application fee(s) (2018-19) for families new to SPC: $200 for the ﬁrst student, $170 for each additional student, not to exceed a family total of $570.
Application fee(s) (2018-19) for current SPC families: $170 for each new student.
*Families will receive a refund only if St. Paul of the Cross School does not accept the application for the child(ren).
- A copy of the child’s latest report card and/or a copy of the latest standardized test scores for transfer applicants, grades 1-8.
Please note that applications will not be accepted with any missing information or missing application fee.
- Complete one Smart Tuition Enrollment Form per family (or complete on-line enrollment at www.EnrollWithSmart.com).
- Submit completed Medical Forms
o Physical Exam: Required for all students entering Preschool, Prekindergarten (if new to SPC), Kindergarten, and 6th Grade.
o Dental Exam: Required for all students entering Kindergarten, 2nd, and 6th Grade.
o Eye Exam: Required for all students entering Kindergarten.
Note: All three forms are required for any student transferring to St. Paul of the Cross School in any grade.
o Office of Catholic Schools Medication Authorization Form if applicable.
- Submit completed Extended Day Program (EDP) registration form if applicable.
PRIORITY OF ADMISSIONS
1. Currently enrolled students of families whose fee and tuition payments are up to date.
2. Siblings of currently enrolled students of families whose fee and tuition payments are up to date.
3. Children of parishioners not currently enrolled.
4. Students transferring from other Catholic schools and/or students whose current parish has no school.
5. Children from non-parishioner families. These children would be required to pay the actual cost of education for a child who attends St. Paul of the Cross School. For the 2017-2018 school year, the actual cost is $5,744 per child (Grades Full Day K – 8).

*Prospective families are invited to come at 9:00 a.m. From 10:00 a.m - 12:00 p.m. there will be an all-school open house for everyone.

PS/PK/K Prospective & Registered New Student Open House

Step 1: Schedule a tour and come for an open house.
Our doors are always open! Come explore St. Paul of the Cross School and all that we have to offer. Sign up for one of our monthly guided tours of the school and campus or monthly Early Childhood Open Houses. During your visit you will observe classes in session and have an opportunity to discover SPC in action. Attend one of our Early Childhood Nights of Information from 6:30 p.m. – 7:30 p.m. on either Thursday, October 12, 2017, or Thursday, January 25, 2018. Come for a visit and hear a presentation about our programs, meet the teachers, and explore the classrooms. Or attend our Catholic Schools Week All School Open House on Sunday, January 28, 2018. Speak with the school principal, pick up an information packet, tour the buildings, visit the classrooms, talk to the teachers, and ask questions. Step 3: You have decided that SPC is the place for your child/children – now what?

Please bring with you the completed application form, an original birth certificate, a baptismal certificate (date if baptized at SPC), and the application fee; transfer students applying for Grades 1-8 should also bring a copy of the student’s latest report card and/or a copy of the latest standardized test scores. Step 4: You have applied – what’s next?
All applications for enrollment are accepted based on the Archdiocese of Chicago admission policy. All students new to SPC in grades 1-8 are required to participate in an interview/assessment session before beginning classes. Upon acceptance, you will be sent information regarding family enrollment in the Smart Tuition program (our web based tuition collection program), required physical, dental, and/or eye exam forms, Office of Catholic Schools Medication Authorization Form (if applicable), and Extended Day Program (EDP) information and forms (if applicable). It is an expectation that these forms will be completed and returned to the school office in a timely manner. Upon receipt of these completed forms, we will send you an email filled with important information about the upcoming school year. This electronic mailing will have information such as: annual school calendar, lunch supervision, supply lists, hot lunch program, uniform information, volunteer sign up, Protecting God’s Children requirements, sports sign up, and more.
Step 5: Attend our Shadow Day or the Early Childhood Open House.
If you are considering an SPC Early Childhood Program or have registered a student in grades 1-8, plan on having him/her attend a shadow day, tentatively on Thursday, May 10, 2018, when they will have the opportunity to spend the morning shadowing a current SPC student. You must sign up by Tuesday, May 8th, if you are planning on attending.
If you are considering SPC or you have registered an Early Childhood student (Preschool, Prekindergarten, or Kindergarten), join us for a new student open house, tentatively on Thursday, June 7, 2018; from 9:00 a.m. - 10:00 a.m. Let your child meet some of their classmates while you meet some of the other parents.
Step 6: Watch for August emails.
In early to mid August, you will be receiving an email from the principal with important information about the imminent start of school. You will see important dates for the beginning of classes as well as information about medication procedures, what days to bring lunches and beverages, when milk service begins, etc. If you have a child attending Preschool, Prekindergarten, or Kindergarten you will also be getting an email from your child’s teacher. This email will inform you of the date and time of your orientation sessions and give you a short supply list.

Note: All three of the above forms are required for any student transferring to St. Paul of the Cross School in any grade. These forms must be submitted by June 1, 2018. If you have an up-to-date physical form (from Preschool, Kindergarten, or Grade 6), dental form (from Kindergarten, Grade 2, or Grade 6), or eye exam form (from Kindergarten) on file at your child's current school, please provide us with copies of these forms by August 1, 2018.
