Spanish Classes ~ Mrs. Mejicanos
Noticias de Español
In the month of February students in kindergarten, first, and second grade worked on body parts vocabulary. We played Simon says, find the hidden body part, and danced the hokey pokey.

In third we continue learning adjectives to describe animal’s characteristics example: el caballo es negro (the horse is black), la vaca es grande (the cow is big). We read a book about el maíz (corn)
In sixth grade the students worked on the weather. They learned how to express orally how the weather is like. They also wrote statements to express their personal assessment of the day’s weather conditions.

In seventh grade the students wrote their own report card in Spanish. They gave themselves a grade and a complement to their good work. If they got a 10, the compliment is sobresaliente (outstanding.)
 |
In eighth grade the students worked learning numbers and writing restaurant menus in Spanish and English. The menus include a variety of Spanish foods for the different meals of the day. They thought a breakfast of huevos rancheros con jamón (fried eggs and ham) or para el almuerzo una ensalada de pollo (chicken salad.)
